Hairstyles that stand out... not sure if its a good thing.

I know this cup has been lacking in the goal department, but the goals will start coming once the teams advance to the more serious semi-finals and finals. In the meantime, Brazilian players have been making a name for themselves, and this time not because of their play, but because of their hair!
During Brazil  games, I have seen some of the weirdest hairstyles in recent memory...

Robinho is known for his style of play, but his hair now looks like an Elvis Presley look, I am not sure it goes with him.

Neymar can become the next supertsar of brazilian soccer, but his mohawk seems to be getting out of control lately...

And last but not least is Dani Alves, who is really trying hard to stand out by bleaching his hair blonde. I don't really it's working either, Dani Alves was recently benched by his coach and will not be playing the next game as a starter.

Maybe the best fans don't come from Argentina or Brazil... maybe they are from... Chile? Yes!

This cup has been a little disappointing so far for Argentina. Two weeks after the cup has started and the hosts have not been able to feel comfortable  inside or outside of the field.
For now, I would say the best fans on the bleachers have been the chileans.  When you talk about who makes the most noise and who never stops jumping and encouraging their team, Chile is right at the top. They call themselves the "red wave" and they are the proud owners of the biggest flag of the world, which they display proudly in the video below.

Argentina Still Favorites

Even though South America's big two have yet to find their rhythm and best form, other teams still have to respect that this two teams have some of the world's biggest stars that in any given moment they can take over a game with their flamboyant style.

Anybody that watched Argentina's run in 2007 is aware of the capability of this nation when in sync. The team is built around the world's finest player, Lionel Messi, is coming off a spectacular season with Barcelona scored 50 goals in one season. Argentina's Messi is considered by many (not me) as one of the best players on the world. Lately, he has been under a lot of scrutiny for not playing up to par to his standard of "best" player of the world.

Below is a video of Messi during his last game against Costa Rica.

Colombia - Peru Preview

Colombia the surprise team winners of first place in group A of Copa America, are to face Peru Saturday at  3 p.m.  The winner of this match will meet the winner from the match Argentina - Uruguay.

Colombia is hopeful of making it to the semifinals again and repeating the feat they completed in 2001, when they won the Copa America beating mexico in the Finals. Colombia will have the same starting eleven that they opted to use when they earned a 2 - 0 victory over bolivia, with the star striker Radamel Falcao leading the attack with 2 goals.

For Peru the main players who Colombia have to keep a close eye on are Juan Manuel Vargas and Paolo Guerrero. Peru is a very strong and fast team, that can defend very well and play to the counter-attack.

Did you know?

1. Colombia is the only team to not concede a goal so far in this cup.
2. Peru have not made it to the semi-finals since 1997.

Look for colombia to win this match 2 - 0.

Neymar: The new rising star

Everybody wants to know what is happening with the 19-year-old kid Sao Paulon. Which powerhouse is going to snatch him from Santos F.C and have him make the big jump across the ocean to europe? It is a good question, gossip says the deal between Neymar and Real Madrid is really close. Real Madrid wants to pay $40 million Euros to Santos, and give the player a contract for five years. Comparing to what Barcelona recently paid for Alexis Sanchez ($45 million Euros), Madrid could be getting a bargain. Neymar scored 2 goals against Ecuador in their last game, and secured Brazil making the first place in the Group C of Copa America.
